Privacy Policy
PoGoCoach is designed to work without collecting more information than is necessary. This policy explains what we handle, why we handle it and the choices available to you.
Effective September 21, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your information
PoGoCoach is the controller of personal information described in this policy. You can contact us or submit a privacy request through our contact form.
2. Information we handle
| Information | Purpose | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Team, battle reviews, recent opponents and preferences | Provide the tools and remember your choices | In your browser |
| Camera images | Recognize the opponent Pokémon | Processed temporarily on your device; not uploaded or stored by us |
| Name, email address and message | Receive and respond to contact requests | Our hosted database |
| Administrative account and sign-in information | Secure access to administration tools | Our authentication service |
| Basic technical request data, such as IP address and browser information | Deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service | Service and infrastructure logs |
We do not use advertising trackers. We do not collect payment information, precise location, government identifiers or information from your Pokémon GO account.
3. Camera privacy
Camera access starts only after you grant browser permission. Recognition runs locally in your browser and analyzes only the selected areas needed to read a Pokémon name. PoGoCoach does not upload, record or store your camera feed. You can stop access at any time by closing the camera view or changing your browser permissions.
4. Cookies and local storage
PoGoCoach uses browser storage to remember your team, saved battle reviews, recent opponents, theme and camera-box positions. Authentication may use strictly necessary browser storage or cookies to keep an administrator signed in. These necessary technologies support features you request, site security and preferences, and cannot be disabled through our consent controls. You can remove local information through your browser settings, although doing so will reset saved choices and may sign you out.
Our consent manager separates optional technologies into Analytics and Advertising. Analytics may in the future help us understand use of the site. Advertising may in the future be used to show, measure or personalize ads. No analytics or advertising service is currently installed, so accepting either category does not currently activate an outside provider or send it information.
Where consent is required, optional categories remain off until you choose. We record your categories, decision time, notice version and later changes in your browser so we can honor your choice. In other regions, permitted optional measurement or advertising may use a regional default while honoring applicable opt-out signals. Data used to match a person for advertising will require explicit advertising consent and will not rely on a regional default.
Select Cookie settings in the footer at any time to review, reject or withdraw optional permissions. Changes apply immediately to future activity and are shared with other open PoGoCoach tabs. We do not replay activity that was blocked before permission was given. Clearing site data also clears the saved choice, so we may ask again where required.
5. How and why we use information
We use personal information only to operate and secure PoGoCoach, remember your local choices, respond to messages, maintain authorized accounts, prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
For visitors in Sweden and the European Economic Area, our legal bases are performance of a requested service, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, and compliance with applicable law. Optional analytics and advertising rely on consent where legally required. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
6. Service providers and international transfers
We use hosting, database, authentication and security providers to run PoGoCoach. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and are subject to contractual and security obligations. Information may be processed outside your country, including outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
7. Retention
Browser-stored information remains until you delete it or clear your browser data. Contact messages are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain a record of the request and meet legal or security requirements. Administrative account information is kept while the account is active and for any additional period required for security or legal obligations. Technical logs are retained only for the period needed for service operation, security and troubleshooting.
8. Your rights in Sweden and the EEA
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the supervisory authority where you live or work.
9. United States privacy rights
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. PoGoCoach does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, our consent controls and this policy will be updated before the activity begins, and applicable opt-out preference signals will be honored. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Where permitted, you may use an authorized agent; we may take reasonable steps to verify the request.
10. Exercising your rights
Submit a request through the contact form. Select or write “Privacy request” in your message and tell us what you are requesting. We may need to verify your identity before acting. If we deny a request, residents of a state that provides an appeal right may appeal by replying through the same contact channel. Most local browser data can be removed immediately by clearing the site data in your browser.
11. Children
PoGoCoach is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid sending sensitive information through the contact form.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or applicable law changes. The effective date at the top will show when the latest version took effect. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice on the website.
