What is PoGoCoach?

PoGoCoach is a Pokémon GO PvP companion designed to help players understand battles faster.

Before a battle, you can explore Pokémon, compare matchups and learn how different moves perform.

During a battle, PoGoCoach can help you quickly understand the current matchup between your team and your opponent.

The goal is not to play the game for you. The goal is to give you useful information when you need it.

Why PoGoCoach exists

There is a lot to remember in Pokémon GO PvP.

Which Pokémon wins the matchup?
How many Fast Moves does the opponent need before reaching a Charged Move?
Which Charged Moves could they be running?
How much damage could those moves deal?
Which Pokémon on your team is the safest response?

Experienced players can learn much of this over time, but even experienced players cannot remember every matchup. PoGoCoach was created to put that information in one place and make it understandable at a glance.

Information for the player — not automated gameplay

PoGoCoach is designed as an information tool.

It does not control Pokémon GO, tap attacks, activate shields, switch Pokémon or make gameplay inputs.

PoGoCoach provides information and calculations to help you understand the battle. You still make every gameplay decision yourself.

Battle Camera & Privacy

The Battle Camera is designed to identify the opponent Pokémon shown on another Pokémon GO screen. Only the area of the camera image needed for identification is analyzed.

Your camera feed is processed for Pokémon identification and is not stored by PoGoCoach.

Data & Calculations

PoGoCoach uses Pokémon GO game data, battle mechanics and PvP calculations to provide matchup information, move counts and damage estimates.

Some PvP information also uses or is derived from publicly available community resources and projects such as PvPoke, and we are grateful for their work.

Pokémon GO is updated regularly, including changes to moves, Pokémon stats and battle mechanics. We aim to keep PoGoCoach accurate and up to date, but calculations may occasionally differ from the current version of the game.

PoGoCoach is an independent, fan-made Pokémon GO PvP tool.

PoGoCoach is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Scopely, The Pokémon Company, Nintendo or their respective affiliates. Pokémon, Pokémon character names and related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
